Steve Struikmans Yearbook

Steve and RaeAnn Struikmans

After graduating from Central College in 1965 I married my sweetheart, RaeAnn.  Having enrolled in Western Theological Seminary, Holland, Michigan we lived in Michigan for 4 years as I earned my Masters Degree in Theology.  After graduation we received a call from 7 families in Temecula, California, to plant a Reformed Church.  For the next 48 years we planted, grew, and cultivated a church family.  We culminated our ministry by building a huge church and school complex on 35 acres of property.  In 2005 I passed on the baton of leadership and spent the next 10 years actively teaching the Bible, discipling men, and seeing our church grow to 3500 members and having a school with 1000 students.

In 2016 we moved to Granbury, Texas to be near and children and grandchildren.  I am still active in teaching Bible and discipling men.

During the years I have spent many hours building two classic cars – a 1956 Ford F-100 and a 1940 Ford Coupe Deluxe.  I served as a volunteer fireman for 8 years, helped start the Volunteer Fire Department and the Rotary Club, served on the local Cemetery Board for 26 years, and served the Reformed Church in a variety of leadership capacities.

FAMILY AND CHILDREN:

RaeAnn and I have 2 children – Rhoda and Neil.  Because both families moved to Texas, we have become Texans as well.  Rhoda has 4 daughters, all academically and artistically outstanding.  Neil has a son who loves his Grandpa, especially when he gets to ride in the ’40 Ford or the Corvette.  RaeAnn continues to be a great Women’s leader in the church we attend and is very creative and artistic.

AWARDS:

I was privileged to earn my Doctorate Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1979.  For two years I served there as adjunct professor teaching Reformed Theology.  Recently I wrote a book – “Amazing Grace, Amazing Growth.”  Two awards for outstanding community service from the State Senate and Assembly.

My greatest anticipated reward is that one day I will stand before the Lord God, my Savior, and He’ll say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
