Dr. K. Adams, daughter Kelsey, & wife Bonnie

WHAT FILLS MY HOURS: I own Matlock Vision Center in Arlington TX. It is a Primary Care Optometric Practice. This is where I spend most of my time. Here in Texas I am a Therapeutic and Glaucoma Specialist. Simply means I can diagnosis and treat ocular diseases with topical and oral medications. I also perform the comprehensive vision exam and fit all types of contact lenses. I am also associated with a surgical center where I perform pre and post exams on cataract and Lasix patients. I enjoy the interaction and problem solving with my patients. Right now, I see no reason not to continue. I enjoy that stupid game of golf. We have season tickets to TX Rangers games and occasional go to a Cowboy game. Arlington is between Ft Worth and Dallas so there are many things.
FAMILY: My wife Bonny and I celebrated our 48 Anniversary 5-22-19!! Yikes. She is a retired elementary school teacher with a Master degree in Early Childhood Development. She is busier now more than before. Two bridge groups—two book clubs –baseball games with a lady’s group. We have one daughter Kelsey. She is an actor and a casting director for a Commercial Casting Company. She lives in Santa Monica, CA. We have a dog Rufus and a grand dog Toby.
AWARDS Voted in city paper Best Optometrist in Arlington 1993 and 2016. Sometimes patients will bring me cherry pies.
AFTER CENTRAL
I taught one-year high school Biology and Human Physiology at Klemme, IA. Then Uncle Sam thought I should join the Army. I was commission 2nd Lieutenant after completing Officer Candidate School. After three active duty in Army Artillery Nuclear Division I left as a 1st Lt. I got married and entered Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. I completed the four years of academia with honors. Shortly after I established my Clinic in Arlington
MEMORIES: Trying to recall things that haven’t been mentioned: I recall Brother Knight at the piano in back of pickup going around to all of the women residence doing our best to impress them with our singing! Then there was that Civil War cannon that got on the lake island and we volunteered to help remove it! And of course, the blaring of the Beach Boys through all the open windows no matter what.
