What Fills My Hours…I am a Retired West Virginia Tree Farmer with 350-acres of mountainous country to keep me busy.

Divorced, Single but now with Beautiful Betty, my 84-year-old girlfriend-She’s a WV Girl!

I build my home on top of a mountain at 1,725 ft above sea level and have 57 windows and 17 skylights. At night when I am in bed all I can see is stars. It is very quiet here except for the Coyotes and Bobcats at night and an occasional Whippoorwill and Screech Owl.

Family/Children: I have a son John III who lives in California on a Yacht in the Marina Del Rey Harbor. He has two kids my Grandson John W. Cobb, IV “The Fourth” 18 an Eagle Scout and Pilot and my Granddaughter Kelly 15 who is a straight A student. My daughter Kristin lives in Marblehead Mass., has a Step Son Jack 25 and two Sons Matt 17 and Ryan 16 both attend The Governor’s Academy and are great students, they excel at sports and are good drivers. John III is the CEO of Giant Media and internet Advertising Firm and Kristin is retired but worked for Oracle Corporation and in 2005 was the Number One Sales person for Oracle world-wide.  Sales & Marketing is in their blood!

Awards; since moving to WV in 2008; Lewis County Farmer of the Year and on February 11, 2019- West Virginia Tree Farmer of the Year 2019. I am currently President of The Pleasant Hill Waterline Association and am working to get “Potable Water” to 170 of my neighbors here in WV

After Central; I enrolled in The University of Iowa Graduate School of Business and graduated with a MA in Marketing with an Economics minor. I took my first job with Bell & Howell Company’s Consumer Products Group, Chicago, then 10 years later I took a job at CBS, Inc. in NYC as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Syndication Sales. In 1981-I joined McGraw-Hill Companies’ Lifetime Learning, in NYC as Senior Vice President, Marketing & Advertising for their internet delivered distance education division. I had 36 of wonderful business experience.
